Summary Working within the Major Highways Team on larger Highways and Infrastructure projects we require an experienced highways design professional / project manager/ design manager to join our growing team. Focus will be on the delivery and design project management of large highway and multidisciplinary projects, with a forward workload including National Highways, Local Authority and Homes England framework projects. You will be capable of working independently and proactively on projects, making sure that work is delivered to the relevant technical standards, the required quality, on time and in budget. The role will include: Client facing project management and design management of projects; reporting and taking individual responsibility for and managing production of design deliverables for projects; input and reporting in Client and internal meetings; managing progress, quality and finances at a project level. As a design professional there will be responsibilities for instructing, supervising and checking design input from internal staff and external sub-consultants, as well as mentoring and supporting staff professional development and training specifically in aspects of highways design management and project management. Skills You should be a qualified professional with HNC/degree in Civil Engineering or similar related Construction qualification, with Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer (or near) status from ICE or CIHT preferred. Extensive experience gained in a highway design related field preferably with experience of working on the design management / project management of large National Highways / County Council led projects and experience and knowledge of managing Professional and Engineering Contracts. Experience of National Highways Procedures and PCF Process would be an advantage. You should ideally: have a broad highways design background with all round knowledge and experience of the design and project management of highways projects to the DMRB. Have a high level of demonstrable project and design management experience within collaborative design environments; be proficient and comfortable working within 3D design and BIM design environments for project delivery/ ideally with National Highways project experience. Have experience on larger projects of using design protocols and common data environments, project extranets and project management systems. Be capable of providing a point of call to assist in the instruction, supervision and mentoring of other team members on Highways Design management processes and procedures. You are an enthusiastic and diligent individual who likes a challenge and is willing to learn.You have good communication skills, a collaborative approach and a proven ability to deliver work on time.You should be able to apply your experience and skills to project manage and design manage the production of design and engineering solutions whilst being flexible to adapt to and manage challenging and changing priorities.
